BMCHSD Remote Learning 

In the event of an extended school closure, we will continue to move our educational process forward through multiple instructional technology platforms.


Getting Prepared:

Continue saving lessons and files to Google Drive or OneDrive.   If you need assistance saving files, contact your building technology support professionals.


Communication and Remote Learning Tools:

The Campus Instruction Message Center feature will be used as the initial communication tool between teachers and families.  After initial communication has been established, BMCHSD educators will be free to utilize platforms they feel will best meet the teaching and learning needs of their students during the period of an extended school closure (i.e. Google Classroom, Docs, Drive, Weebly Campus Pro, FlipGrid, SMART Learning Suite, Remind, Quizlet, Professional Learning Networks, etc.)

*Google Hangouts Meet  has been enabled for Teacher, Admin and Student use (remote CSE meetings, dept. & faculty meetings, teacher-student communication, etc.)

Student Connectivity Options:


Altice (formerly Cablevision) offers a free internet product for students with no Internet access at home.  Installation charges are also waived.  The relationship is directly between parent/guardian and Altice. Parents call 1-866-200-9522 to enroll

·        When a parent calls in, they can say they are calling about the offer for free internet service. 

·        No documentation is required – just self-identification that they have a K-12 or college student in the household and do not currently have internet access at home. 

·        There is no install fee or out of pocket costs for 60 days (as of now)

·        If the address does have an outstanding balance from another account, there is a chance they may deny this unless they can pay that balance or can prove it was not theirs.

Through the prompts, They will need to select new customer, new service, new Internet


  • Free WiFi Access Hot Spots:

Altice/Optimum and Verizon have signed on to open up their hotspots to any devices for 60 days.
